Are Borderlands servers down?

UPDATE: On Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, players are reporting issues with Borderlands servers. We will update the article once we have more information about the issues. There are no official announcement about any scheduled maintenance for today.

At the moment, Borderlands servers are experiencing issues. Players reported information about problems on May 20th, 2022. The source of the problem is unknown. If the servers are offline, this may be caused by several factors. The reason might be the fact that Borderlands 3 is free on the Epic Games Store. The game might have an update to be deployed, which may require a few hours of downtime. Developers are maybe performing scheduled maintenance, and that’s why Borderlands 2 and 3 are offline. Also, the cause might simply be within the servers themselves, and it needs to be fixed.

How to Check Borderlands Server Status?

Borderlands games are being hosted on SHiFT servers. In fact, all games made by Gearbox Software are hosted on SHiFT servers. I can’t play borderlands 3 online as well. I kept thinking it was my Wi Fi but after re starting my modem 4 times I come to the conclusion it was the server

Im about to start playing Borderlands 2 for the first time, but when starting up the game it shows that im offline. When I go into the network settings and change my status to online, it just stays on the creating online session screen and nothing else happens. I’ve tried unstalling and re-installing it but im still having the same issue. Are the Shift servers down again? If so, when will they be up and running? I want to play with my partner but I can’t which is really annoying.

Yeah, Natalie, I’m having the same or a similar issue with borderlands 2 at the moment. When I try to change my network mode to anything that would use the internet, it tells me that the multiplayer service is unavailable and tells me to follow them on twitter to check the server status. I don’t know when they’ll be back online, but I know a way to play online in the meantime.
