Vampire Survivors Launching on PlayStation, Contra DLC

The devil works hard, but Poncle work harder. The solo-dev venture turned team behind Vampire Survivors is not done with Vampire Survivors, seemingly not by a long shot. And thank goodness, because it’s my favorite game from 2022, bar none. Not only are they finally bringing the game to both PlayStation 4 and 5, but a new DLC is coming real soon. And based on what the developers have said, it’s going to be really content-rich. Let’s get into the details, shall we?

Vampire Survivors Launching on PlayStation, Contra DLC

Let’s get the PlayStation portion out of the way first, because there’s less to say about it. We all know that Vampire Survivors has been on PC, Xbox and Switch for a while now, but the PS4 and 5 have not been part of the party yet. Well, that’s about to change this summer, when the game will launch on both consoles. Unfortunately, there’s no precise launch window, but hey, we know it is coming! I hope it enjoys the same amount of deserved success there.

Now for the real juicy part, the Contra DLC, called Operation Guns. It’s coming out on May 9th, and it will cost $2.49 / €2.49 / £1.99, according to the announcement. And there’s a lot that it will contain. Here’s what the post promises:

  • 11 gun-slinging characters
  • 22 new weapons between base versions and evolutions. They’re not all guns – some of them trigger explosions too!
  • 1 large stage and 1 bonus stage
  • 13 music tracks directly from the Contra series and 6 brand new covers
  • An explosively silly 6-chapters Adventure

So, yeah, a lot to look forward to. If you check out the trailer below, you’ll see what the new content is going to play like. And quite honestly, it seems amazing. Just the sheer amount of projectiles going everywhere is incredible. I don’t care if I can barely tell what’s going on, I just want to sow death!
