How to Upgrade Horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

To upgrade your horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you first have to find the horse god Malanya, who is actually a fairy. Call them what you will, this entity can both upgrade the abilities of your horses and even revive them. Only trouble is, the game won’t tell you where Malanya is. The only clue you’ll ever get is if you talk to the East Akkala Stable keeper. He will tell you that the horse god is at the nearby lake. We have a separate guide on where to find Malanya, but here’s the quick gist: there are two lakes north of the stable. The fairy is in the northern lake. Hand them an endura carrot, and they will emerge from the plant.

The next step to upgrade your horse in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is to ask it of Malanya when prompted. There is still a catch, though. The horse fairy seems to have a bottomless appetite, and will only make your mounts better if you bring her meals. Each upgrade costs an absolute ton of food, and only specific dishes. All of them are based around greens and vegetables, as you’d expect from the god of horses. In the list below, we’ll show you what you’ll need to cook for Malanya.
