How to Evolve Primeape in Pokemon GO

To evolve Primeape into Annihilape in Pokemon GO, you have to defeat thirty Psychic-type or Ghost-type Pokemon while having Primeape as your buddy. The Primeape doesn’t actually have to be the one fighting them; you can use any Pokemon in those battles, so long as your buddy is Primeape. This new evolution has been added in the Raging Battles event, which will last from January 19th, 2024 at 10 AM local time to January 24th, 2024 at 8 PM local time. Among other things, Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently and Throh and Sawk will both appear in the wild regardless of your location while the event lasts. However, Annihilape is definitely the main attraction. And yes, the new Pokemon can absolutely be shiny, if evolved from a shiny Primeape.

Can You Evolve Primeape after Raging Battles Event Ends?

Honestly, we don’t know whether you’ll be able to evolve Primeape into Annihilape in Pokemon GO after Raging Battles wraps up. There’s no reason to assume you wouldn’t; that’d be a silly thing to do. Then again, Niantic have been known to do silly things quite often, so who knows? What we do know is that you can earn that Annihilape evolution through PvP battles. People are already organizing with their Trainer friends to throw Ghost- or Psychic-types at each other to “cheat” the system. That’s something you can do, too, if you have people that are willing to return the favor. Anything to mess with Niantic, as far as I’m concerned.
