Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Demo is Available for Free on All Platforms

The Lost Crown is the first new Prince of Persia game in over a decade (if we don’t count Prince of Persia: Escape 2). And, to the delight of fans around the world, it seems that Ubisoft Montpellier did a fantastic job. The reviews are in, and critics almost universally agree that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a superb game, with an average score of 86 out of 100 on Metacritic, based on 65 critic reviews. And we couldn’t agree more. The Lost Crown is truly a modern Metroidvania masterpiece, which has “brought a brilliant start to 2024.”

However, if you are still sceptical and tend not to believe media reviews, you can now try the game for free ahead of the launch later this month. Namely, Ubisoft has just released a free demo, available digitally on all platforms, which players can download and experience the game firsthand. “This demo includes carefully selected sections from the game, with early unlocks of time powers and amulets, to show the main gameplay features while not spoiling the story,” Ubisoft details in the press release.

If you are out of the loop, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is a 2.5D side-scrolling action-adventure platformer game. On top of it, the game includes many Metroidvania elements, with Ubisoft Montpellier’s innovative twist on the genre. It’s set to be released on Thursday, January 18th, 2024. The game (as well as the free demo) is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and on PC via the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store.
