Where to Find the Hylian Shield Location in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Best Early Game Shield TOTK

The Hylian Shield in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is by far one of the best shield in the game. Not only does it have the highest durability, it also has the highest defense score. And the best thing? You will be able to unlock it almost immediately upon starting the game. That is, when you first reach Hyrule after you complete the Great Sky Island area. Of course, you will need to know where to look.

The Hylian Shield location in Zelda TOTK is in the Central Hyrule area, just behind the Hyrule Castle, at the Castle docks. What you need to do is to climb around the castle and reach the northeast side of the Castle wall. Check out the map below for the exact location. Once at location, jump down and reach the edge of the cliff. You will need to jump down and enter the cave on the side of the cliff. Entrance to the cave is at -0144, 1084, 0063 . Enter the cave, and inside you will find a massive torch. Simple light the torch and a chest will appear with the Hylian Shield inside! So there you have it, that’s how you get the best shield in Zelda TOTK early in the game!

While extremely durable, the best shield in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is not unbreakable. It will eventually brake. However, you will be able to fix the shield and get it again!
