Hogwarts Legacy Arachnophobia Mode Explained

The Hogwarts Legacy Arachnophobia Mode sounds like it’s some kind of nightmare where you have to fight endless streams of giant spiders. Turns out, it’s the complete opposite. Arachnophobia Mode in Hogwarts Legacy

The new Arachnophobia Mode in Hogwarts Legacy can be turned on in the accessibility settings. What it does is allow people who are afraid of spiders to work through the infested areas of the game. At least, in theory. See the image above? That’s what all the giant arachnids look like with the mode turned on. Just really silly and almost vaguely friendly. I don’t know whether it will help every arachnophobe, but I’m sure it will work for many. According to the official patch notes, the new mode also “reduces and removes spider skitters and screeches” and “removes small spider ground effect spawners.” Arachnophobia mode also makes static spider corpses invisible, but it does keep collision on, lest you get stuck. The spider images in the Field Guide remain the same.

So, yeah, that’s basically all there is to the Hogwarts Legacy Arachnophobia Mode. If you have a problem with spiders of any size, let alone cyclopean ones, Hogwarts is a tricky place to visit. At least the forest is, what with its lairs of arachnids the size of busses. I wouldn’t be surprised if that kept some people away from the game. Well, now you can just turn them all into what amounts to children’s Halloween ornaments on roller skates. They’re absolutely adorable.
