Pokemon GO Is Virizion Good?

No, Virizion is not particularly good in Pokemon GO, especially when you consider that it’s a Legendary Pokemon and is pretty much only obtainable through five-star Raids. I mean, sure, it does pack a punch, and the combo of Grass- and Fighting-type is interesting. However, there are better options for both types that are way easier to get and evolve / power up instead of wasting resources on Virizion. That said, there’s always bragging rights and filling the Pokedex, so if that’s what you’re after, by all means, go for it. Or if you just want a challenge. If, on the other hand, you’re trying to get a good Grass-type or Fighting-type Pokemon, it’s completely safe to ignore the green goat.

So, yeah, Virizion is not really that good in Pokemon GO. With that out of the way, if you’re still interested in capturing it, here are some details you should know. Virizion is weak against Poison, Fire, Psychic, Ice and Fairy attacks (160% damage), and especially Flying attacks (256% damage). It’s resistant to Ground, Rock, Water, Grass, Dark and Electric attacks (63% damage). In other word, there are a lot of Pokemon that can eat Virizion alive, including Mega Moltres, Mega Charizard, Ho-Oh, and many others. As far as the moveset goes, the green Legendary goat can have Quick Attack (Normal), Zen Headbutt (Psychic) or Double Kick (Fighting) as the Quick Move and Stone Edge (Rock), Leaf Blade (Grass), Close Combat (Fighting) or Sacred Sword (Fighting, Elite) as the Charged Move.
