How to Get Golden Lure Without Scarlet and Violet in Pokemon GO

You cannot get the Golden Lure without connecting Pokemon GO with Scarlet and Violet; at least, that is the case at time of writing. However, you can absolutely piggyback off of Golden Lures that other people have placed. So, you technically can get Gimmighoul in Pokemon GO without Scarlet and Violet (as long as you have the Coin Bag), but you have to rely on strangers. That’s to say nothing of how long it’ll take you to get the 999 Golden Coins necessary to evolve Gimmighoul into Gholdengo. Ideally, you’ll want to connect with other Trainers and ask them to let you know where and when they’ll be placing their Gold Lures.

How do You Get Golden Lure Modules with Scarlet and Violet

In order to get the Golden Lure Modules with Scarlet and Violet, you have to go through a few steps, which we’ve explained in our How to Get Gimmighoul guide. Open Scarlet or Violet, then open the X menu and click the Pokemon Portal. Select Mystery Gift next, then Connect to Pokemon GO. Pick Pair with a Pokemon Go account if you haven’t done so already. Next, open Pokemon GO, head into your settings and head down to Nintendo Switch. Select Connect to Nintendo Switch, then confirm with a Yes after the process is done.

Now you have to send postcards from GO to Scarlet or Violet. Open your Item Bag and scroll down to Gifts. From there, select the Postcard Book. Pick one of the postcards and tap the hamburger menu in the bottom right. Select Send to Nintendo Switch, and you got it from there. Do this daily for dive days, and you’ll get the Golden Lure soon enough.

Can You Stack Golden Lure in Pokemon GO

Now that we know how to get the Golden Lure Modules in Pokemon GO with Scarlet and Violet, there’s still the question of whether you can stack Golden Lures in GO. The answer is no, you cannot. If you get to the fifth day of sending postcards while already having a Lure in your inventory, you will get a handful of coins instead. In other words, the system really incentivizes you to use those Yellow Lures as soon as you can. While PokeStops that have a Gold Lure don’t always drop Golden Coins, they are still way more useful when applied.
