Should You Serve Ranni the Witch in Elden Ring?

Serve Ranni the Witch or Not Elden Ring

Ranni the Witch, or just Renna how she introduced herself the first time we met her, will ask you to serve her when you meet her at Ranni’s Rise. If you choose not to serve Ranni, there will be no major direct consequences. You can still continue the main story as normal. She’ll not hold it against you. Yet, by choosing to serve Ranni, you’ll open up a brand new questline with an abundance of new and interesting characters and side story elements. So there’s really no practical reason for you to choose not to serve Rani in Elden Ring.

The only reason to choose not to serve Ranni in Elden Ring is if you are not yet ready to commit to that questline. But that’s perfectly fine. Because, even if you choose not to serve her, you can always change your mind, come back to her tower at a later point, and choose to serve Ranni. She’ll gladly accept your services.

If you choose to serve Ranni, she’ll direct you to some new areas to explore, like Nokron Eternal City. At some point, some of your decisions during her questline might influence the ending, though we won’t spoil things for you. But that’s another reason to choose to serve her, as you’ll be presented with new main story options.

Very early in your exploration of Elden Ring world you will find out that you need to prepare your character for different tasks. You'll need to learn how to use Ashes of War, how to two-hand weapons, or use magic spells during the course of your adventures. Many secrets are also waiting for you, such as, a hostile NPC Sellen that doesn't let you see her shop, an invisible man in a bush, or a huge turtle with a bell that lets you duplicate some very important items.

She is actually arguable one of the better options to side with. The English Translation got butchered and makes her seem way worse and a bit cold and or evil but in the Japanese version she makes loads on since and arguable wants to remake something better. If you look up what she is supposed to say you will see what her true intentions are and they are not bad and arguably good it was the butchered English translation from Japanese that turns players off once you know what she really wants before the mistranslation I feel the is one of the better if not the best option arguably.
