Zelda TOTK Master Sword Upgrade
Can you upgrade the Master Sword in TOTK? This question is something many Zelda Tears of the Kingdom players are asking after they have acquired the legendary sword. You could do this in BotW, but is it possible in TOTK? Here’s everything you need to know.
Can You Upgrade The Master Sword In TotK
Probably one of the hardest and most complicated things to do in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is to get the iconic Master Sword. This feat will take a lot of time and several completed questlines before you can put your hands on it. However, once you finally have it, it is by far the most powerful weapon you can have in the game. Not only does it possess huge damage, but it also can not be destroyed!
Nonetheless, BtoW veterans remember that it can be even stronger when you upgrade it. Hence, the question arises – can you upgrade the Master Sword in TOTK? Let’s not beat around the bush here and jump straight to the chase. Unfortunately, unlike in BotW, you can not upgrade the Master Sword in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.
Currently, such option does not exist in the game. However, that’s not to say that Nintendo will not eventually add an option to level up the iconic sword. The Master Trials DLC, the first of two pieces of DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, added the Trial of the Sword. Here’s the official description:
In the Trial of the Sword, you start with no weapons or equipment and must fight your way through 45 rooms of fierce enemies. Your only tools will be those you gather along the way. But the reward for completing such a gruelling challenge is great: finishing the trial will make the Master Sword even more powerful.
So there you have it. At the time of writing, you can not upgrade the Master Sword in TOTK. However, Nintendo will most likely add this option in one of the feature DLCs, just like they added it in BotW.
getting the master sword in totk isn’t difficult or complicated, all you need is the 2nd stamina wheel and a flying machine like the air bike and you can go grab it on a whim whenever you see the light dragon
Doing it the legit way, you’re supposed to defeat Phantom Ganon in the Great Deku Tree Chasm first (this is what lowers the altitude of the Light Dragon and starts the official quest to get the Master Sword). He’s a bit challenging in the early game, because he pretty much 1 shots you.
