When is the Xbox Business Update Event Starting

While there is no exact date or time for the Xbox Business Update event, Phil Spencer has confirmed in a tweet that it’s going to be at some point this week. By this week, I mean anywhere between Monday, February 12th, and Sunday, February 18th. The full tweet reads: “We’re listening and we hear you. We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.” Now, yes, that beginning part is a fairly boilerplate statement that we’ve gotten used to over the years, but what it is all about? Well, you know how there’s been a lot of talk about Xbox embracing a multiplatform future, releasing their games on competing platforms? Yeah, that.

We’ll be sure to add more information on the date and time of the Xbox Business Update event when it does come out. Until then, we can only assume which way the future of Xbox is going to take us. Personally, as a gamer for over twenty years, one thing I’ve always been sick of is console tribalism and the need to gatekeep great games from each other. If Phil Spencer and co. decide to bring titles like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves to PlayStation and the Switch, I would be delighted. I strongly disagree with the stances of some Xbox influencers that have immediately attacked this new direction. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
