How to Get Primal Energy Pokemon GO

In order for your Pokemon to evolve into their Primal Reversion forms, a type of evolution similar to Mega Evolution, you’ll need to collect Primal Energy for that specific Pokemon. The best and most efficient way is by beating a Raid boss Pokemon that has undergone Primal Reversion in a Raid Battle. We are, of course, talking about Primal Groudon or Primal Kyogre. The quicker you defeat them, the more Primal Energy you’ll receive. Hence, make sure to be efficient with time. It’s important to note that you don’t need to catch them. You only need to defeat them! You should also know that Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon each have their unique resource. Thus, you won’t be able to use Energy from one Pokemon to evolve another.

Primal Energy From Walking

Once you successfully register a Primal Form of a Pokemon in your Pokedex, you will be able to earn Primal Energy for that Pokemon simply by walking! All you need to do is to make that Pokemon your Buddy, and you will earn 100 Primal Energy per 20 km of walk with them as your buddy.

Primal Energy After Event

Finally, you can get more Primal Energy from various events and special research tasks. However, these are not permanent. Hence, they are not a reliable source of Primal Energy. For example, the Go Tour: Hoenn event and the Chasing Legends quest. This event was rewarding extra PE. Unfortunately, the only way to earn extra Primal Energy after an event is by walking with Kyogre or Groudon as your buddies. Just make sure to register their Primal Form in your Pokedix first!
